Chat with buyers or sellers on the Fixh IT Marketplace to check compatibility, availability and shipping for a spare part, before and after a purchase, without leaving your system.
When it comes to spare parts for smartphone and PC repair, one technical detail can make the difference between a good purchase and a useless part: the hardware revision of a display, the exact part code of a battery, whether a motherboard is compatible with a specific regional variant of the device. The messaging built into the Fixh IT Marketplace exists exactly to clarify these details before buying, or to coordinate with the other party after the purchase, all without leaving your system and without having to exchange emails or phone numbers with repair shops you may never have contacted before.
Why it matters for a repair shop
Buying a spare part remotely, from a repair shop you don't know, carries an inherent risk: without being able to see or touch the piece, the only way to be sure of compatibility is to ask the seller directly. Direct chat reduces that risk, lets you negotiate special terms (such as a discount for buying several units of the same part, or reinforced packaging for a fragile component) and builds trust over time between shops in the Fixh network, useful for future collaboration on the Repair Hub or on other Marketplace listings too.
How it works
From any Marketplace listing you can start a direct conversation with the seller before buying, to ask about real availability, exact compatibility with your model, the piece's actual condition or shipping details not clear from the listing page. Every conversation stays linked to the listing it started from, so whenever you reopen it, you have the context right there: item title, price and every message exchanged in chronological order. If you prefer, you can also start a free-form conversation with a company in the network without starting from a specific listing, for instance to ask general questions about what a shop that regularly sells parts has in stock.
In the Marketplace Messages section you find the list of all your conversations, sorted by the date of the last message received, with a preview of the content and the number of unread messages highlighted for each chat. Whenever you open a conversation, every message received in it is automatically marked as read. Every time you get a new message, you also get a notification in the system with a preview of the text and a direct link to the Messages section, so you don't have to manually check whether someone has written to you.
Messaging stays useful after the purchase too: if you need to coordinate in-store pickup details, confirm the shipping address or report a problem with a received order, the same chat linked to the listing remains the fastest channel to reach the other party, without having to look for other contact details.
Quick guide
- Open the listing for the part you're interested in on the Marketplace.
- Start a new conversation with the seller from the contact button on the listing page.
- Write your question: compatibility, actual condition, availability or shipping details.
- Check Marketplace > Messages to see replies and the number of unread messages.
- Reply quickly so you don't keep the other party waiting, especially if the repair is urgent.
- After the purchase, use the same conversation to coordinate pickup, shipping or any issue with the order.
Real use cases
Compatibility check before buying. A technician sees a display on the Marketplace that looks compatible with the smartphone model under repair, but the listing doesn't specify the exact hardware revision. They message the seller in chat, get confirmation of the exact compatibility and proceed with the purchase with confidence, avoiding the risk of receiving a part that ends up not fitting the device.
Negotiating a bulk purchase. A repair shop needs several units of the same part for a batch of scheduled repairs. It contacts the seller in chat to ask whether a discount is available for buying larger quantities, agrees on terms directly in the conversation and completes the order at the negotiated price.
Coordinating shipping after purchase. After buying a fragile component, a repair shop messages the seller to ask for specific reinforced packaging, given the risk of damage during transport. The seller confirms the packaging arrangements in chat before shipping, reducing the risk that the piece arrives damaged.
Tips and best practices
Before buying a critical part, always use chat to confirm the item's actual compatibility and condition: it's faster and more reliable than relying only on the listing's written description. Reply to messages as quickly as possible, especially if you're selling: a buyer who waits too long for a reply often turns to a similar listing on the Marketplace instead. Be specific in your questions: asking "is it compatible with model X, revision Y?" gets more useful answers than a generic "will this work for my device?" Keep a professional and courteous tone: Marketplace messaging builds your repair shop's reputation across the whole Fixh network.
Common mistakes to avoid
Don't buy a part with unresolved compatibility doubts without asking the seller first: it's an easily avoidable mistake that can cost you a useless part. Don't ignore new-message notifications: a delay in replying, especially as a seller, can lose a sale to a more responsive competitor. Avoid exchanging contact details outside the system to continue the conversation elsewhere: keeping everything inside Marketplace messaging preserves a useful history in case of an order dispute. Finally, don't forget to use chat after the purchase too if problems come up: it's the most direct channel to resolve them quickly with the other party.
